The residual field indicator can be used to check remanent magnetism in workpieces, e.g. after magnetic particle crack detection. As well it is able to detect the position and polarity of the magnetic poles. Residual field indicators respond very sensitively to slightest variations of the magnetic field. Therefore, they are particularly suitable for comparative measurements, e.g. to distinguish sufficiently and insufficiently demagnetized test parts.
