The combined magnetic particle crack detection allows the display of arbitrarily oriented surface cracks in iron, cast iron and ferromagnetic steel. With stationary testing machines, the test is performed inside the machine.

Testing in stationary machines can be partially or fully automated. Automated processes are possible for loading and unloading the machine, clamping of the workpiece, magnetization during rinsing and post-magnetization to stabilize the crack indication while the test media is draining.
